Direct answer: is the Tweezerman Slant Tweezer Stainless Steel (1230-R) right for you?
Hand-filed alignment is the difference and it is a real one: a machine-ground tweezer meets at the point but not along the whole edge, so it slides off a fine hair where an aligned slant grips the full shaft.

Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: Hand-filed alignment is the difference and it is a real one: a machine-ground tweezer meets at the point but not along the whole edge, so it slides off a fine hair where an aligned slant grips the full shaft. The free lifetime resharpening is what turns a Rs1,999 tweezer into a sensible purchase, since the only thing that ever goes wrong is a dulled edge.

Holding up so far
Had this most of a year now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Free lifetime resharpening from the manufacturer. Still mildly irritated by one thing: Slant tip is wrong for ingrown hairs, which need a point. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Matched my use exactly
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Anyone who has repeatedly failed to grip fine hairs with cheaper tweezers. On that basis it has been the right call. Hand-filed slant grips the full hair shaft rather than sliding off.

Fine, once I adjusted my expectations
Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: Slant tip is wrong for ingrown hairs, which need a point. Costs many times a drugstore tweezer. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: Hand-filed slant grips the full hair shaft rather than sliding off. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.

My mistake, but read the avoid note
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone who wants a pointed tip for ingrown hairs — that is a different tool. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Happy with it, but go in informed
Hand-filed slant grips the full hair shaft rather than sliding off. The one thing to know before ordering: Slant tip is wrong for ingrown hairs, which need a point. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.
