Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: pH around 5.5 is the specification that matters in a cleanser and is almost never stated. Traditional soap sits around pH 9 to 10, which is why skin feels tight afterwards -- that tightness is a disrupted barrier, not cleanliness. Combined with genuinely fragrance-free formulation and ceramides that replace what washing removes, this is the sensible default for normal to oily skin.
Who should buy this
Normal to oily skin wanting a pH-balanced, genuinely fragrance-free daily cleanser.
Who should avoid this
Dry or dehydrated skin, which should use the Hydrating Cleanser instead of the Foaming one.
Key strengths
- pH around 5.5, so it does not strip the barrier the way soap does
- Genuinely fragrance free, not masked
- 473 ml lasts most people close to a year
Limitations
- Too stripping for dry skin -- the Hydrating version is the correct one
- The large bottle is awkward for travel
- Foaming action can feel insufficient to anyone used to soap

No notes
pH around 5.5, so it does not strip the barrier the way soap does. That was the whole reason I picked this over the cheaper options, and it is exactly as described. Also worth mentioning: Genuinely fragrance free, not masked. No regrets after a couple of weeks.

Three stars, and here is exactly why
Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: Too stripping for dry skin — the Hydrating version is the correct one. The large bottle is awkward for travel. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: pH around 5.5, so it does not strip the barrier the way soap does. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.

Holding up so far
Had this about a month now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Genuinely fragrance free, not masked. Still mildly irritated by one thing: Too stripping for dry skin — the Hydrating version is the correct one. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.
