Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: The same ink economics as the ET-2850 with the two things that machine lacks: a 30-sheet document feeder and Ethernet, which is what makes it usable as a shared office printer. Ink yield is identical at about 4,500 black and 7,500 color pages per bottle set, so the extra hundred dollars buys handling and networking rather than lower running cost. It still clogs if left idle for weeks, and a shared office printer that sits unused over a holiday is exactly where that happens.
Who should buy this
Small offices wanting supertank running costs with a feeder and a wired network port.
Who should avoid this
Single-user desks, where the ET-2850 does the same printing for less.

Not the product’s fault, but be warned
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Single-user desks, where the ET-2850 does the same printing for less. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Holding up so far
Had this two months now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Ethernet as well as Wi-Fi. Still mildly irritated by one thing: A hundred dollars more for handling, not for cheaper pages. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Bought it on the numbers, and the numbers were right
I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Document feeder". The page says 30-sheet ADF, and that is what turned up. Ethernet as well as Wi-Fi.

Good, with one thing to plan for
30-sheet automatic document feeder. The one thing to know before ordering: A hundred dollars more for handling, not for cheaper pages. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

Be ready for one thing — A hundred dollars more for handling
Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: A hundred dollars more for handling, not for cheaper pages. Head clogs if the printer sits unused for long periods. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: 30-sheet automatic document feeder. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.
