Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: One set of Epson 502 bottles covers about 4,500 black and 7,500 color pages, which works out under a cent a page -- the lowest running cost of any printer in this department. Epson uses a piezoelectric head that is not heated, which is why these tolerate refilling better than thermal heads, but it is still a head that clogs if left unused. It has automatic duplex but no document feeder, so two-sided printing is easy and multi-page scanning is done a sheet at a time on the glass.
Who should buy this
Home and small offices printing color regularly where cost per page is the deciding number.
Who should avoid this
Anyone needing a document feeder for multi-page scanning.

Four stars, and here is the fifth — No automatic document feeder
Under a cent a black page on Epson 502 bottles. The one thing to know before ordering: No automatic document feeder. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

Not the product’s fault, but be warned
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone needing a document feeder for multi-page scanning. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Bought it on the numbers, and the numbers were right
I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Connectivity". The page says Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and USB, and that is what turned up. Under a cent a black page on Epson 502 bottles.
