Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: Direct thermal printing means there is no ink, no toner and no ribbon -- the only consumable is the label roll, which is what makes label printers cheap to run and their output fade in sunlight. The 4 inch width is the reason to choose this over the desktop QL models: it prints full shipping labels rather than address labels. It takes Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB, so it can sit on a network as a shared dispatch printer rather than being tied to one computer.
Who should buy this

Specs match the listing
I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Rated power". The page says About 30 W printing, and that is what turned up. No ink, toner or ribbon — the label roll is the only consumable.

Holding up so far
Had this six weeks now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. 4 inch wide labels, enough for full shipping labels. Still mildly irritated by one thing: Direct thermal output fades in sunlight and heat. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Read the fit note, and it was me
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Dispatch benches printing 4 inch shipping labels in volume. On that basis it has been the right call. No ink, toner or ribbon — the label roll is the only consumable.

Not the product’s fault, but be warned
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone needing labels that survive sunlight or abrasion, which need thermal transfer instead. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Happy with it, but go in informed
No ink, toner or ribbon — the label roll is the only consumable. The one thing to know before ordering: Direct thermal output fades in sunlight and heat. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.
