The Acer Aspire Lite 15 handles browsing, documents and video comfortably at around ₹32,000. Its 250-nit screen is dim for outdoor or bright-room use, and 8 GB of RAM is limiting — though a spare SODIMM slot makes memory the cheap upgrade worth making.

Product overview
This is the price band where compromises are unavoidable, and it is worth knowing which ones you are accepting. The Ryzen 5 5500U is a capable six-core chip for documents, browsing and video calls, but the 250-nit display is dim enough to struggle near a window, and 8 GB of RAM will feel tight with many browser tabs open alongside other applications. The RAM is upgradeable via a single SODIMM slot, which is the single most worthwhile upgrade on a machine like this.
Key capabilities
- AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, six cores
- 15.6-inch 1920x1080 IPS display
- 8 GB DDR4 with one free SODIMM slot
- 512 GB NVMe SSD

Matched my use exactly
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Students and home users on a tight budget who need a full-size laptop for documents, browsing and video, and who work mostly indoors. On that basis it has been the right call. Six-core Ryzen 5 5500U is capable for everyday work.

Holding up so far
Had this six weeks now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Spare SODIMM slot allows a cheap RAM upgrade. Still mildly irritated by one thing: 250-nit display is dim in bright rooms. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Three stars, and here is exactly why
Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: 250-nit display is dim in bright rooms. 8 GB RAM is limiting out of the box. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: Six-core Ryzen 5 5500U is capable for everyday work. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.
