Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: DisplayHDR 400 is worth understanding for what it is not: with no local dimming zones, enabling HDR mostly raises brightness and washes out contrast, and most owners turn it off. What the monitor genuinely delivers is 1440p at 165 Hz on an IPS panel with accurate sRGB, which is the sweet spot for both gaming and work. The 1 ms figure requires the fastest overdrive setting, which produces visible overshoot artefacts.

Does the one thing I bought it for
1440p at 165 Hz on IPS, the practical sweet spot for gaming and work. That was the whole reason I picked this over the cheaper options, and it is exactly as described. Also worth mentioning: 99 percent sRGB, so it is genuinely usable for colour work. Been using it now for a couple of weeks.

Happy with it, but go in informed
1440p at 165 Hz on IPS, the practical sweet spot for gaming and work. The one thing to know before ordering: DisplayHDR 400 with no local dimming is effectively not HDR. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

My mistake, but read the avoid note
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone buying it for HDR — without local dimming there is nothing there. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.
