Editorial verdict

Grounded in published specifications

Summary verdict: A 120 degree field of view is the specification that makes this a huddle room camera rather than a desk one -- everybody along a short table is in frame without repositioning. The camera, three beamforming microphones and the speaker are one USB device, which removes the separate speakerphone and its pairing problems from the room. Microphone pickup is about 8 feet and an extension is a separate purchase, so a long boardroom table is outside what this covers.

Who should buy this

Huddle rooms up to about six seats that want one USB device instead of a camera and a speakerphone.

Who should avoid this

Large boardrooms, where pickup range and framing both fall short without extension microphones.

Key strengths

  • 120 degree field of view covers a short table without repositioning

  • Motorised pan and tilt with saved presets

Limitations

  • Microphone pickup is about 8 feet before an extension is needed
  • 4K sensor but 1080p over most conferencing platforms

Posting after real use, not unboxing

Had this a couple of weeks now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Camera, microphones and speaker as a single USB device. Still mildly irritated by one thing: Microphone pickup is about 8 feet before an extension is needed. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Not the product’s fault, but be warned

Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Large boardrooms, where pickup range and framing both fall short without extension microphones. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Three stars, and here is exactly why

Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: Microphone pickup is about 8 feet before an extension is needed. 4K sensor but 1080p over most conferencing platforms. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: 120 degree field of view covers a short table without repositioning. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.

Good, with one thing to plan for

120 degree field of view covers a short table without repositioning. The one thing to know before ordering: Microphone pickup is about 8 feet before an extension is needed. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

    Checked the rated power claim

I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Rated power". The page says About 15 W in a call, and that is what turned up. 120 degree field of view covers a short table without repositioning.
