Editorial verdict

Grounded in published specifications

Summary verdict: All four HDMI ports are 2.1, which is unusual and genuinely useful -- a console, a PC and a receiver can all run 4K120 without swapping cables. Around 9 ms input lag with G-Sync and FreeSync makes it as much a gaming monitor as a television. The brightness caveat is the same as every OLED: roughly 800 nits on a small window, about 230 sustained across the whole screen.

Who should buy this

Not the product’s fault, but be warned

Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone in a bright room, and anyone whose content is HDR10+ rather than Dolby Vision. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

  • 5 out of 5 stars, in a sample review of LG 65-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV (OLED65C3PSA)

Right product for the right person

The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Gamers with multiple 4K120 sources, and film watchers in a light-controlled room. On that basis it has been the right call. All four HDMI ports are 2.1 with 4K120, not just one or two.

  • 5 out of 5 stars, in a sample review of LG 65-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV (OLED65C3PSA)

Listing was accurate, which is rarer than it should be

All four HDMI ports are 2.1 with 4K120, not just one or two. That was the whole reason I picked this over the cheaper options, and it is exactly as described. Also worth mentioning: About 9 ms input lag with G-Sync and FreeSync certification. No regrets after a couple of weeks.

Happy with it, but go in informed

All four HDMI ports are 2.1 with 4K120, not just one or two. The one thing to know before ordering: No HDR10+ support. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.
