Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: The flat back panel is the whole design and it addresses why most travel pillows fail: a round one fills the gap between head and seat and pushes the head forward, which is worse than nothing. Flattening the back lets the head rest against the seat where it belongs. The front clasp stops the forward nod, which some people find restrictive and others find is the only reason they slept.

Three stars, and here is exactly why
Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: The front clasp feels restrictive to some. Memory foam retains heat on a warm flight. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: Flat back panel keeps the head against the seat rather than forward of it. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.

Wrong product for my situation
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone who dislikes anything fastened at the throat — the front clasp is central to the design. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Holding up so far
Had this about a month now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Front clasp genuinely prevents the forward nod. Still mildly irritated by one thing: The front clasp feels restrictive to some. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Does the one thing I bought it for
Flat back panel keeps the head against the seat rather than forward of it. That was the whole reason I picked this over the cheaper options, and it is exactly as described. Also worth mentioning: Front clasp genuinely prevents the forward nod. Nothing has surprised me in most of a year.
