Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker 6 Qt
Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: Two numbers make the difference between expectation and experience. It runs at about 11.6 psi against a stovetop cooker's 15, so everything takes longer than an Indian recipe assumes, and there is a 10 to 15 minute preheat before the timer even starts. A dish billed as fifteen minutes is realistically thirty-five. Convenience and walk-away safety are the real benefits, not speed.
Who should buy this
Anyone who wants unattended, timed cooking and will adjust timings upward from stovetop recipes.
Who should avoid this
Anyone expecting stovetop-cooker speed -- lower pressure plus preheat makes it slower, not faster.

Not the product’s fault, but be warned
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone expecting stovetop-cooker speed — lower pressure plus preheat makes it slower, not faster. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Bought it on the numbers, and the numbers were right
I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Preheat". The page says 10 to 15 minutes before pressure builds, which most timings omit, and that is what turned up. Genuinely unattended cooking with a timer and keep-warm.

Happy with it, but go in informed
Genuinely unattended cooking with a timer and keep-warm. The one thing to know before ordering: 11.6 psi against a stovetop cooker's 15, so cooking is slower. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.
