Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: Not being a Wi-Fi monitor is the feature rather than a limitation. Wi-Fi baby monitors have been remotely accessed by strangers in documented cases, and an FHSS monitor has no internet path at all, so it cannot be reached from outside the house. You give up remote viewing, which is precisely the property that creates the risk. Keep the camera and its cable at least a metre from the cot.
Who should buy this
Anyone who wants a monitor that cannot be reached from outside the home.

Read the fit note, and it was me
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Anyone who wants a monitor that cannot be reached from outside the home. On that basis it has been the right call. FHSS rather than Wi-Fi, so there is no internet path to compromise.

Happy with it, but go in informed
FHSS rather than Wi-Fi, so there is no internet path to compromise. The one thing to know before ordering: No remote viewing from outside the home, by design. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

Not the product’s fault, but be warned
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone who needs to check the camera while away from the house — this cannot do that by design. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.
