Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: GOTS certification covers the supply chain rather than only the fibre, including which dyes may be used, which is what distinguishes it from an unverified organic claim. The safety point is worth stating plainly because the product name invites the misunderstanding: safe sleep guidance is a bare cot for the first twelve months, so this is for swaddling awake, carrying and covering a pram rather than for a baby to sleep under.

Specs match the listing
I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Safe sleep". The page says Every major paediatric body advises no loose blankets, bumpers or soft items in a cot for the first year. A receiving blanket is for swaddling awake, carrying and covering a pram, not for sleeping under, and that is what turned up. GOTS certified, which covers processing and dyes rather than fibre alone.

Happy with it, but go in informed
GOTS certified, which covers processing and dyes rather than fibre alone. The one thing to know before ordering: Not for use in a cot with a sleeping infant under 12 months. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

Wrong product for my situation
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone intending to leave it in the cot with a sleeping infant. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Holding up so far
Had this about a month now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Knit weave has the stretch that makes swaddling work. Still mildly irritated by one thing: Not for use in a cot with a sleeping infant under 12 months. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.
