Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: Accepted by VOHC for both plaque and tartar, where many chews are accepted for tartar alone -- a broader claim, and the reason to prefer them. The texture is the other design point: deliberately chewy so the tooth sinks in and the surface is wiped, where very hard chews clean less and are a documented cause of slab fractures. A useful rule is that a dental chew should flex under a thumbnail.
Who should buy this
Dogs 11 to 22 kg where independent evidence for both plaque and tartar matters.
Who should avoid this
Anyone not counting the roughly 90 kcal per treat against the daily allowance.
Key strengths
- VOHC accepted for both plaque and tartar, a broader claim than most
- Chewy rather than hard, so it cleans without fracture risk
- Highly digestible, which matters as they are swallowed
Limitations
- About 90 kcal each, which is significant for a small dog
- Must be size matched -- too small is a swallowing risk

Holding up so far
Had this three months now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Chewy rather than hard, so it cleans without fracture risk. Still mildly irritated by one thing: About 90 kcal each, which is significant for a small dog. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Right product for the right person
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Dogs 11 to 22 kg where independent evidence for both plaque and tartar matters. On that basis it has been the right call. VOHC accepted for both plaque and tartar, a broader claim than most.

Not the product’s fault, but be warned
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone not counting the roughly 90 kcal per treat against the daily allowance. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Four stars, and here is the fifth — About 90 kcal each
VOHC accepted for both plaque and tartar, a broader claim than most. The one thing to know before ordering: About 90 kcal each, which is significant for a small dog. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

No notes
VOHC accepted for both plaque and tartar, a broader claim than most. That was the whole reason I picked this over the cheaper options, and it is exactly as described. Also worth mentioning: Chewy rather than hard, so it cleans without fracture risk. Been using it now for a couple of weeks.
