Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: This is a tool with an edge rather than a brush, and that distinction is where the damage happens: pressing hard or working one area repeatedly cuts the topcoat, leaving a patchy finish that takes months to grow out. It also should not be used at all on single-coated non-shedding breeds like Poodles or Shih Tzus, where there is no undercoat to remove and it simply cuts hair.

Matched my use exactly
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Double-coated shedding breeds, used briefly once or twice a week. On that basis it has been the right call. Removes loose undercoat far more effectively than a brush.

After a few months
Had this two months now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Ejector button clears the blade cleanly. Still mildly irritated by one thing: Has an edge, so over-use cuts and damages the topcoat. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Be ready for one thing — Has an edge
Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: Has an edge, so over-use cuts and damages the topcoat. Must not be used on single-coated non-shedding breeds. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: Removes loose undercoat far more effectively than a brush. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.

Bought it on the numbers, and the numbers were right
I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Correct breeds". The page says Double-coated shedding breeds — Labradors, German Shepherds, Huskies, Indian Pariah dogs, and that is what turned up. Removes loose undercoat far more effectively than a brush.

Listing was accurate, which is rarer than it should be
Removes loose undercoat far more effectively than a brush. That was the whole reason I picked this over the cheaper options, and it is exactly as described. Also worth mentioning: Ejector button clears the blade cleanly. Nothing has surprised me in about a month.
