Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: Horizon lock to a full 360 degrees is the feature worth the upgrade -- footage stays level whatever the camera does, which no amount of editing replicates. Two things are less advertised: GPS was removed in this generation, so no speed or altitude overlays, and about 70 minutes at 5.3K60 means a full day of filming is a three or four battery proposition.

Checked the weight claim
I compared four of these on paper before ordering, so the line I actually checked was "Weight". The page says 154 g, and that is what turned up. 360 degree horizon lock keeps footage level through any rotation.

My mistake, but read the avoid note
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone who wants GPS telemetry overlays — the HERO11 has them and this does not. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Fine, once I adjusted my expectations
Leading with the problem, because it is what I would have wanted to read: GPS removed in this generation, so no speed or altitude overlays. About 70 minutes per battery at the top setting. Neither is hidden — both are listed on the page — but they matter more in daily use than they look on a spec sheet. I have kept it, for one reason: 360 degree horizon lock keeps footage level through any rotation. That still outweighs the rest, but only just.

After a few months
Had this two months now, so this is not an unboxing opinion. Waterproof to 10 metres with no housing. Still mildly irritated by one thing: GPS removed in this generation, so no speed or altitude overlays. Known trade-off rather than a fault, though, and I would buy it again.

Matched my use exactly
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Anyone filming action where the camera rotates and the horizon must stay level. On that basis it has been the right call. 360 degree horizon lock keeps footage level through any rotation.
