Daawat Rozana Super Basmati Rice 5kg Pack
In stock
Packaged grocery. Everyday-grade basmati. Ageing, not brand, is what determines whether grains stay separate
Direct answer: is the Daawat Rozana Super Basmati Rice 5kg Pack right for you?
Ageing rather than brand is what makes basmati grains stay separate: rice aged twelve to twenty-four months has lost moisture, absorbs less water and elongates more, while young basmati cooks sticky whatever the label says.

Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: Ageing rather than brand is what makes basmati grains stay separate: rice aged twelve to twenty-four months has lost moisture, absorbs less water and elongates more, while young basmati cooks sticky whatever the label says. This is an everyday grade, meaning younger rice. Rinsing until the water runs clear and soaking for twenty minutes will do more for the result than moving up a grade.
Who should buy this
Everyday cooking where cost per kilogram matters more than maximum grain elongation.
Who should avoid this
Anyone cooking biryani for guests -- an aged premium grade is a visible difference.
Key strengths
- Genuine basmati at an everyday price point
- Around 7.5 mm grain length uncooked
- 5 kg pack suits regular household use
Limitations
- Everyday grade means younger, less-aged rice
- Cooks stickier than aged premium basmati
- Requires rinsing and soaking to perform at its best
Technical specifications
- Brand
- Daawat
- Grade
- Rozana is Daawat's everyday tier, below their aged premium lines
- Ageing
- Basmati is aged 12 to 24 months to reduce moisture. Aged grain absorbs less water, elongates more and stays separate. Unaged basmati cooks sticky
- Rinsing
- Rinse until the water runs clear and soak 20 to 30 minutes -- this matters more for separation than the grade does
- Warranty
- 1 Year Official Brand Warranty
- Model SKU
- DW-RZ-5K
- Grain length
- Around 7.5 mm before cooking
- Why that matters
- Ageing, not brand or price alone, is the variable. An everyday grade is younger rice
- Per 100 g uncooked
- About 350 kcal, 7 g protein

Happy with it, but go in informed
Genuine basmati at an everyday price point. The one thing to know before ordering: Everyday grade means younger, less-aged rice. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

My mistake, but read the avoid note
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Anyone cooking biryani for guests — an aged premium grade is a visible difference. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.

Read the fit note, and it was me
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Everyday cooking where cost per kilogram matters more than maximum grain elongation. On that basis it has been the right call. Genuine basmati at an everyday price point.
