Editorial verdict
Grounded in published specifications
Summary verdict: ANSI Z87.1 is the rating that makes eyewear safety eyewear, and it is a pass or fail standard -- glasses without it are not lighter-duty protection, they are not protection. The pressure-diffusion temple is the actual feature: it self-adjusts to head size instead of ratcheting, which is why these stay put without being tightened until they ache. Anti-fog coatings wear off with cleaning, so treat the coating as a consumable rather than a permanent property of the glasses.
Who should buy this
Anyone using a grinder, saw or drill, which is to say anyone using the rest of this department.
Who should avoid this

Right product for the right person
The page describes who this is for, and it described me: Anyone using a grinder, saw or drill, which is to say anyone using the rest of this department. On that basis it has been the right call. ANSI Z87.1 impact rated.

Does the one thing I bought it for
ANSI Z87.1 impact rated. That was the whole reason I picked this over the cheaper options, and it is exactly as described. Also worth mentioning: Self-adjusting temples rather than a ratchet. No regrets after a couple of weeks.

Happy with it, but go in informed
ANSI Z87.1 impact rated. The one thing to know before ordering: The anti-fog coating wears off with repeated cleaning. To be fair that is written on the product page. I skimmed past it and had to rearrange things afterwards.

My mistake, but read the avoid note
Genuinely my own fault. Posting so somebody else does not repeat it. The listing says who should avoid this: Chemical splash work, which needs sealed goggles rather than open safety glasses. That was my situation and I ordered anyway. It does what it says on the page — it just was not the thing I needed.
